Three accused arrested in the two raids conducted each on Tuesday and Wednesday include a 29 year-old native of Chennai, 33 year-old native of Himachal Pradesh and a 46-year-old British national.
The accused have been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act,1985. T​he first raid was conducted at Praisa Waddo​ in​ Anjuna​ ​by a team ​led by PSI Dite​​ndra Naik​.
While the native of Chennai​ was​ ​arrested ​for being in ​illegal ​possession of ​75 ​gms ​​of suspected methamphetamine​ and ​suspected ​LSD weighing 40 gms​, the British ​n​ational ​was booked for​ being in ​illegal ​possession of 17 grams of ​​suspected MDMA ​​ ​(commonly known as ecstacy) ​ ​and 32 ecstasy tablets weighing 13 grams approximately worth Rs 5​.​86​ lakh.​
​The second raid was conducted by ANC team led by PSI Therron D’Costa at Bamanbhatti​ in ​Arambol​ where ​the native of Himachal Pradesh​ was caught​ for being in illegal possession of 1.350 kgs of ​c​haras approximately ​worth​ Rs 5​.4​​​​0 ​lakh. Some cash​,​ one mobile phone and one scooter​ were also attached from his possession.​
T​hough the seized quantity of charas is relatively small, sources from ANC hinted that investigating team has secured a crucial lead taking towards the upper echelons of the supply chain​ of the highly potent Himachal charas.
